Vin Cunningham Motorcycles was established by Vin and Dymphna Cunningham in Darwen using the proceeds from the sale of their BSA Gold Flash. After national service in the RAF Vin worked in various bike shops in the Blackburn area, eventually gaining enough experience to set up on his own in 1958. The business has always been based on good old fashioned service, Vin always said he wanted to open the type of bike shop he would like to shop in. Initially the plan was to carry out repairs and sell spare parts but this soon progressed on to selling a few second-hand and then new bikes. Over the past six decades we have held agencies for most of the major manufacturers including Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Moto Guzzi, Vespa, Gilera, Piaggio and Sym and even briefly Fiat cars. Vins son Ian joined the business full time in 1979 and continued the business up until 2021, mainly concentrating on selling and restoring 60s/70s/80s/90s classics. He has now joined H and H Classic Auctions as a valuer putting his lifelong experience to good use in the auction world.
